Five players from Logan’s state runner-up squad were named to the first team of Region 6-1A all-district volleyball.
Lady Longhorns who made the team were senior setter and middle blocker Haylie Bidegain, junior outside hitter Desta Rose, sophomore libero Jadyn Garcia, junior defensive specialist Mylee Stone and junior setter Charli Fuller.
Bidegain led the Lady Longhorns in kills (276), aces (43), hitting percentage (.281) and blocks (71) and was second on the team in assists (342).
She also was chosen for Saturday’s Class 1A/2A Red-Green All-Star game. (See other story in this edition.)
Rose was second on the Logan squad in kills (243) and digs (349).
Garcia led the Lady Longhorns with 380 digs on the season.
Stone was second on the team in aces with 26 and third in digs with 212.
Fuller led the team in assists with 384.
Honorable mentions in the district for the Lady Longhorns were:
— Sophomore Makinlee Judd (91 kills, 50 digs)
— Sophomore Aspen Casey (85 kills, 22 digs)
— Sophomore Reese Hastie (33 kills, 34 digs)
— Senior Abby Paris (13 blocks).
Logan finished with a 22-6 record, losing to Quemado in the Class 1A championship match. The Lady Longhorns also went undefeated in their district.
For San Jon, which played in the same district, senior Addie Lafferty, senior Dakota Fisher and junior Alexa Baccera were named to the all-district team.
The Lady Coyotes finished 5-15 overall.
