Thursday — First Baptist Church’s Thanksgiving Day Lunch. The annual free meal will be served in the fellowship hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 321 E. Center St.
Saturday — Very Merry Tucumcari. Tucumcari MainStreet and the Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce are combining forces for a fun shopping activity from 10 a.m. to noon. Kandel’s Street Sips will offer a chance to decorate a gingerbread cookie. Sands-Dorsey Park will have a QR code to listen to a Christmas story. Jackalope Coffee Haus will offer a free hot chocolate. Decorate an ornament for your tree at Blanco Creek Boutique. Goodies Go Last will over a chance to decorate a pastry. Also, watch for flyers to find local shopping deals.
Saturday — Tucumcari MainStreet Merry Market. The market at the Tucumcari Railroad Depot will run from 1 to 8 p.m., including the Christmas Light Parade ending there and Santa paying a visit. Indoor booths are $20. For more information, call (575) 461-3701 or go to tucumcarimainstreet.com.
Saturday — Christmas Light Parade. The Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce is organizing this annual event that begins at 6 p.m., with a Christmas depot at 7 p.m. and a visit by Santa Claus. The parade route will be along Route 66, then north on Second Street to the Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza. For information, email [email protected] or call (575) 461-1694.
Dec. 7 — 12th annual Christmas Expo. The event at the Tucumcari Convention Center will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a visit from Santa Claus from 1 to 3 p.m. and a canned food drive by the Ministry of Hope.
Dec. 8 — Logan Light Parade and Craft Fair. The parade at 6 p.m. runs through downtown on the same route as the annual Fourth of July parade. Parade lineup is behind the Old Country Inn. Dec. 13 — Quay Community Choir Christmas Cantata. The annual free performance will be at 7 p.m. at the Center Street Methodist Church at 406 E. Center St.
Dec. 14 — Mariachi Christmas. The Tucumcari Zia Club is presenting free performances by Dance Divas and Mariachi Euphoria at the Tucumcari High School auditorium. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with the performances at 1.
