Northern lights

Jarrett Marcum captured this image of the glow of the northern lights, also known as aurora borealis, through the clouds early Friday at Ute Lake State Park in Logan. Many in northern New Mexico caught a rare glimpse of the phenomenon, which is caused by an unusually strong solar flare from the sun.
