Longhorn runners 8th at ATC Invitational

The Logan boys cross-country team finished eighth Saturday at the 15-team ATC Invitational in Santa Fe.

The Longhorns finished with 263 team points. Taos won the meet with 43 points, while Pecos was runner-up with 78 points.

Kale Griffiths was the top runner for the Longhorns, finishing 41st on the 3-mile course in a time of 20 minutes, 44 seconds.

Other runners for Logan were Mitchell Wall (45th, 20:56), Chris Lucero (54th, 21:49), Mason Barnhart (61st, 22:05), Bill DeLuca (62nd, 22:06), Devin Kotara (63rd, 22:14) and Payson Nials (71st, 22:49).

Judah Daffron of Taos was the top individual finisher in 16:06. Taos had three of the top seven runners in the race.

For the Lady Longhorns in the girls race, Aubrey Reed was the top runner, finishing. 39th in 26:04.

Other Logan girls competing were Kyle Terry (45th, 26:50), Lilly Nials (47th, 27:06) and Reese Hastie (54th, 28:18).

Santa Fe Prep won the title among eight squads with 44 points. Taos finished with 95. Logan didn’t field enough runners to earn team points.

Chloe Grieco of St. Michael’s finished first individually in 19:33, more than a minute faster than the runner-up.
