Sept. 14 — Fired Up festival. Tucumcari MainStreet will host its annual festival at the Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza. The event will include live performances, a fireworks show, a car show, Prince Tocum and Princess Kari contest, food trucks and craft booths. Sept. 14 — Rotary Golf Tourney. The four-person scramble at Tucumcari Municipal Golf Course includes lunch. Check-in is at 10 a.m., with lunch at noon. The ball-drop contest gives a chance to win up to $2,000. Fee is $50 per player, plus $20 per each ball-drop ticket. Proceeds will go to support youth scholarships and activities. Sept. 28 — Quay County On the Move annual fun run / walk. The free event departs from Kvols Park at 8 a.m., with registration from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. All finishers receive a T-shirt.
Sept. 28 — Law Enforcement Appreciation Spaghetti Dinner. The Republican Party of Quay County event will be at 6 p.m. at the Quay County Fairgrounds in Tucumcari and include a dessert auction. Oct. 19 — Altrusa International of Tucumcari 47th annual Boo Bash fundraiser. This year’s event, which will be virtual on the organization’s Facebook page at 6 p.m., will feature a reverse-drawing grand prize of $15,000. Tickets are $100 and are available from Altrusa members.
Oct. 26 — TucumScary Halloween Block Party. Second Street in downtown will be closed to traffic from Main to Aber streets from 4 to 7 p.m. for trick-or-treating and other activities. Vendors who wish to participate should call Connie at (575) 403-6272 or Annie at (575) 403-6859.
