Logan boys, girls teams win EPAC meet

The Logan High School boys and girls teams each prevailed over the rest of the field at the nine-team EPAC Varsity Meet on Saturday at Logan.

The Longhorns breezed to the title with 139 points, well past runner-up Melrose and its 104 points. House finished with nine points.

The Lady Longhorns scored 99 points to edge the runner-up Lady Buffs and their 93 points.

Logan’s Haden Judd won three events — the 100-meter dash (11.36 seconds), the 300-meter hurdles race (0:42.55) and pole vault (15 feet). He also finished second in the 200-meter dash (0:23.57).

Longhorns teammate Aydin Kotara won two events — the 400-meter dash (0:53.89) and 200-meter dash (0:23.56). He also finished second in the 100-meter dash (0:11.57).

Kale Griffiths also won the 3,200-meter run for Logan in 12:46.35.

Other Logan boys who scored team points included:

— Brock Burns, second, triple jump (37-3 1/2), and sixth, discus (111-5 1/4);

— Christopher Lucero, second, 3,200-meter run (12:59.43), and fourth, 1,600-meter run (5:42.28);

— Mason Wallin, second, shot put (41-9), and third, discus (125-3);

— Hayden Bruhn, third, triple jump (37-2 1/2);

— Mason Barnhart, third, 3,200-meter run (13:31.96);

— Bill DeLuca, third, 800-meter run (2:21.93);

— Mitchell Wall, fourth, 800-meter run (2:27.59), sixth, 1,600-meter run (5:53.77), and fifth, javelin (120-0);

— Kaeden Stoner, fourth, 110-meter hurdles (0:17.89), and fourth, 300-meter hurdles (0:45.57);

— Connor Moore, fifth, 800-meter run (2:32.18), and sixth, triple jump (30-6 1/4);

— Stratton Schoonover, sixth, 100-meter dash (0:11.93);

— 400-meter relay, sixth (0:48.39);

— 800-meter relay, third (1:39.89);

— 1,600-meter relay, second (3:48.03);

— 1,600-meter sprint medley relay, second (4:15.24);

— 3,200-meter relay, third (9:51.47).

For House, Chris Hernandez and Cade Lee finished third and fourth respectively in the pole vault, both clearing 10-6.

For the Lady Longhorns, Makinlee Judd won three events: the 100-meter hurdles (0:16.85), 300-meter hurdles (0:53.81) and pole vault (9-0).

Kaylee Williams won two events for Logan — the 200-meter dash (0:27.38) and triple jump (34-10) — and finished second in the 100-meter dash (0:13.11).

Abby Paris also won the discus throw with a distance of 97-7 1/2.

Logan’s 400-meter relay team won in a time of 0:52.96.

— Brynn Bush, third, 300-meter hurdles (0:56.45), and fifth, pole vault (6-6);

— Aaliyah Lansdell, fifth, javelin (81-10 1/2);

— April Lansdell, fifth, 400-meter dash (1:17.33);

— Bailey Salvador-Jones, sixth, discus (70-9);

— 1,600-meter relay, third (4:48.53);

— 1,600-meter sprint medley relay, second (5:12.62);

— 3,200-meter relay, third (12:26.90).

Logan will host the district track meet Saturday before the state meet the following weekend.
