The Tucumcari softball team reeled off four straight wins last week, including a doubleheader sweep Wednesday at Clayton.
Tucumcari won the non-district games over the Yellowjackets by scores of 26-2 and 18-0, with both shortened by the mercy rule.
In the opener, the Lady Rattlers scored nine runs in the third inning and 13 in the fourth. Tucumcari rapped 15 hits and drew 24 walks.
Alexis Ramirez went 2-for-3 at the plate, including a double and a triple, with six RBI.
Angel Vasquez also hit a double and a triple and drove in three runs. Amaya Roybal scored four runs.
Tucumcari pitcher Mia Estrada allowed five hits and one walk while allowing two earned runs in five innings. She struck out seven.
In the second game, Tucumcari scored 11 runs in the third inning.
Harley McKinney and Haisley Huffman each drove in four runs for the Lady Rattlers. Tucumcari totaled 11 hits and 11 walks.
Estrada allowed just two hits and no walks with the shutout victory, striking out four.
Clayton fell to 3-7 overall.

The Lady Rattlers scored in every inning but one during district doubleheader sweep at Santa Rosa last Monday.
Tucumcari won the first game 11-1, then the second 12-2. Both games were shortened by the mercy rule.
In the first game, the Lady Rattlers broke it open with five runs in the third inning for a 7-1 lead.
Tayden Hyslop and Ramirez each went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Lady Rattlers. Huffman scored three runs.
Tucumcari pitcher Estrada allowed just one earned run in six innings, striking out three.
In the nightcap, Tucumcari was the beneficiary of 12 walks from two Lady Lions pitchers, accounting for seven earned runs. Santa Rosa also committed four errors, leading to five unearned runs.
Estrada allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out four.
Santa Rosa dropped to 8-10 overall.
