The Logan baseball team swept a non-district doubleheader last Tuesday from visiting Magdalena by scores of 11-1 and 14-8, extending its win streak to six.
In the opener, the Longhorns (7-2) jumped to a 7-0 lead after two innings.
Ace Kaeden Stoner allowed just two hits and two walks while fanning 10 during a complete game.
Stoner also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBI. Brock Burns and Jace Jackson each drove in three runs.
In the nightcap, Logan trailed 4-1 before rallying with six runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Longhorns added seven in the sixth.
Mason Wallin went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI. Izaiah Kneitz went 2-for-4 with a triple and three runs batted in.
On the mound, Logan, Aydin Kotara, Kaeden Stoner and Burns combined for 10 strikeouts and six earned runs allowed.
Magdalena fell to 2-5.
Logan 13, Questa 1
The Longhorns took control with a four-run fifth inning and a six-run seventh during a 13-1 non-district victory at Questa last Monday.
Logan totaled 17 hits. Kotara cracked two home runs with four RBI. Diego Sanchez and Wallin also hit home runs.
Sanchez struck out 11 in a complete game, allowing six hits, two walks and one earned run.
Questa fell to 1-6.
Logan wins by forfeit
Logan earned two forfeit victories Friday over Chesterton Academy of Albuquerque, improving the Longhorns’ record to 9-2.
