Serving the High Plains
The Tucumcari Film Festival last week announced the addition of a category, “New Mexico Made Visions: Homegrown Films,” to showcase cinematic excellence from the Land of Enchantment.
“Homegrown Films” provides an opportunity for local filmmakers, crews and actors to be appreciated by a broader audience. The Tucumcari Film Festival will be April 26-27 at the Tucumcari Railroad Museum and Odeon Theatre.
The festival welcomes submissions that range from short films clocking in at up to 30 minutes to feature-length movies lasting 60 minutes or more.
“We extend a warm invitation to the vibrant community of New Mexico’s filmmaking industry, encouraging both emerging and established talents to submit their compelling works,” Robert F. Hockaday, liaison for Film Tucumcari, stated in a news release. “Whether through spellbinding narratives, breathtaking cinematography, or thought-provoking documentaries, ‘Homegrown Films’ aims to capture and celebrate the essence of New Mexico’s unique storytelling tradition.”
The regular deadline for submissions is March 31. Filmmakers can submit entries via filmfreeway.com/tucumcarifilmfest.
