Logan scored early and often during a 58-0 non-district victory over visiting Magdalena in eight-man football action Friday night.
The Longhorns led 36-0 after one quarter. The game ended at halftime due to the mercy rule.
Logan started the scoring when quarterback Brock Burns connected with Aydin Kotara for a touchdown pass.
Stratton Schoonover, Payson Nials and Devin Kotara also scored touchdowns for the Longhorns.
Logan coach Dwayne Roberts noted his team committed just one turnover Friday, compared to six the previous week during a 24-6 loss to Menaul.
“We played well,” he said. “If we played like that the other night, we wouldn’t have lost to Menaul.”
The Longhorns improved to 3-1 overall.
Magdalena fell to 1-3.
Logan’s next game is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mesilla Valley Christian in Las Cruces. Mesilla Valley is ranked fifth in the state in eight-man football by the latest coaches poll.
Mesilla Valley (2-1) defeated Menaul 46-18 on Friday.
Roberts said if his team keeps down its turnover count, it has a good chance to win at Las Cruces.
He also noted junior center Jace Jackson will be back in the lineup after being sidelined from an injury suffered during practice before the season started.
“He’ll help us a lot,” Roberts said.
