Task force offers empowerment group for trauma victims

The Quay County Health Council’s Intimate Partner Violence Task Force is bringing an adult empowerment group to the region.

The group is for adults who have experienced trauma or violence during their lifetimes.

Participants will work with the facilitators and each other to “let their past empower them to a better today.”

This group will meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at VFW Post 2528 at 105 E. Main St. in Tucumcari, with each one-hour session beginning at 1 p.m.

Sessions are not sequential, so it is OK if participants miss one. Participation is free.

The group’s facilitators have experience in offering similar empowerment groups in Clovis and Portales.

The group is being offered through partnerships with ARISE Sexual Assault Services, RGH Child Advocacy Center and the Hartley House domestic violence shelter in Clovis.
