Three members of Tucumcari's softball team earned all-district honors during voting results announced after the state tournament this past weekend.
Earning top honors in District 3A-4 for the Lady Rattlers were senior shortstop Alexus Lafferty, senior pitcher Juli Rivera and junior outfielder and first baseman Alexis Ramirez.
During district play, Rivera hit .545 with a slugging average of 1.091, both of them team-highs.
Lafferty hit .400 with a .560 slugging average during district play while playing good infield defense. During the season, she was second on the team in hitting (.446) and led in stolen bases (25), runs scored (35) and home runs (3).
Ramirez hit .435 during district play, and she led the team in walks (15) during the regular season.
Honorable mentions were senior first baseman Sierra Valverde, junior centerfielder Haisley Huffman and junior catcher Amaya Roybal.
Tucumcari coach CJ Oglesby said Valverde would have been "a walk-in" as a first-team selection if she had been able to play the last two games of the district schedule. A sore knee forced her to the sidelines. Valverde led the team in batting average (.509) and RBI (30).
Tucumcari finished with a 10-14 record and qualified for the Class 3A playoffs, losing in the first round to West Las Vegas.
The Logan softball team boasted one all-district selection - sophomore catcher Marilyn Moreno, who consistently led her team in offensive categories during the season.
The Lady Longhorns totaled four honorable mentions in Class A/2A's District 6: junior Camryn Cantrell, junior Brookel Smith, freshman Charli Fuller and Alexis Valentine.
Logan finished with a 7-15 record and 0-9 in district play.
