Two THS golfers break 100 at Roswell tourney

Two Tucumcari High School golfers broke 100 during the 10-team Alien 8 tournament in Roswell last Tuesday.

Kaden Brown shot a 95 on at the par-72 New Mexico Military Institute Golf Course, breaking 100 for the second straight event. That put him in 40th place at the tournament.

Teammate Creed Owen also broke 100 by shooting a 99, putting him in 48th place.

Logan Lafferty rounded out the Rattler field by shooting a 125.

In girls golf, Tucumcari’s Jade Duplantis shot a 120 for 31st place. July Lafferty shot a 122, and MiKayla Klinger shot a 132.

No team scores were kept for the Tucumcari boys or girls because of a lack of players.

Other boys or girls teams at the tournament were Pine Hill, Clovis, Texico, Portales, Dexter, Hobbs, Goddard, Miyamura, New Mexico Military Institute, Clovis Christian, Roswell and Mescalero Apache.

Tucumcari was scheduled to participate in three events this week — the Clovis Wildcat on Monday, the NMMI Colt Classic on Thursday and the Clovis Christian Invitational on Friday.

The district tournament is scheduled for May 2 at NMMI.
