The Lady Longhorns notched a doubleheader sweep Friday at San Jon by scores of 21-0 and 27-8.
In the first game, Logan’s Marilyn Moreno went 3-for-3 with an inside-the-park grand slam and five RBI. Brookel Smith hit a two-run, inside-the-park homer and totaled four RBI.
Charli Fuller struck out five in three innings of relief.
In the nightcap, Fuller struck out five and allowed just one hit in a three-inning complete game. She also went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Camryn Cantrell went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBI, six stolen bases and four runs scored. Logan coach Dustin Robertson also praised her defensive play at first base.
Moreno went 3-for-3 and hit another inside-the-park home run. She stole five bases and scored four runs.
Logan improved to 6-10 overall.
San Jon, a first-year program, fell to 0-8.
Pecos 19, Logan 7
Logan dropped a district game last Monday by a 19-7 score against host Pecos.
For Logan, Moreno hit a two-run inside-the-the park home run. Smith went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Jadyn Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Pecos improved to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in its district, second only to unbeaten Santa Rosa.
