• Friday — Halloween History Alive Tour. This is a walking tour of downtown Tucumcari featuring new, hair-raising stories and bone-chilling accounts of the city’s past. Tickets can be purchased from Tucumcari MainStreet.
• Saturday — Spook-tacular Halloween Block Party. Tucumcari MainStreet is planning a downtown block party with trick-or-treat booths, food trucks, games and more on a blocked-off section of Second Street between Main and Aber streets. Businesses, churches and organizations are invited to set up during the event from 4 to 8 p.m.
• Saturday — Tucumcari Historical Museum Pumpkin Crawl. This event from 7 to 8 p.m. will be an outdoor pumpkin gallery featuring a $500 first prize for the best decorated pumpkin. For entry information, call the chamber of commerce at (575) 404-6480. 416 S. Adams St., Tucumcari.
• Saturday — Hocus Pokey dance and costume party. Join the Elks Lodge 1172 at 7 p.m. with a disc jockey, food and games. It includes a costume contest for cash and prizes. 2118 S. Adams St., Tucumcari.
• Monday — Tucumscary Movie Night. The Odeon Theatre in Tucumcari will hold a free screening of the “The Exorcist” at 8 p.m. The event includes a raffle and other giveaways.
• Nov. 2 — Navajo Code Talker speech. Thomas H. Begay will talk about his experience for the Marines during World War II and how he later served in Korea. Begay is one of the last surviving Navajo Code Talkers. The event will be in the Tucumcari High School auditorium from 10 a.m. to noon.
• Nov. 4 — Helping Hands Hospice enchilada dinner. This annual fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. will be at the Elks Lodge at 2118 S. Adams St. Plates are $12. The event includes a quilt raffle. For tickets or more information, call (575) 461-0099.
• Dec. 3 — Glow on 66 Christmas Light Parade. The annual parade on Second Street and Route 66 will include a $500 prize for best float. Those who wish to enter should call (575) 404-6480, (575) 461-1694 or email [email protected].
