• Friday-Saturday — First Presbyterian Church rummage sale. The biannual sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at 306 E. Aber St. in Tucumcari.

• Friday-Saturday — Mesalands Community College Grand Canyon Region Intercollegiate Rodeo. The 14th annual event will feature a performance by professional rodeo clown and barrelman Dustin “The Jester” Jenkins. Ticket prices at 6 p.m. each night are $10 for adults, $5 for youth age 12 and older and free for children younger than 12. Quay County Fairgrounds rodeo arena, Tucumcari.

• Oct. 15 — Altrusa International of Tucumcari’s Holiday Party. This event at the Elks Lodge will include dinner, a dance and the chance to win $15,000 in cash and other prizes. The dinner begins at 6 p.m., with the dance at 8:30 p.m. featuring Limited Edition. Tickets are $100 for two people; contact an Altrusa member to buy one. Sales go to support Altrusa community projects.

• Oct. 15 — Christmas in October. The Tucumcari Historical Museum at 416 S. Adams St. is hosting its own yard sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including Christmas inflatables and treasures for purchase. Call (575) 461-4201 for more information.

• Oct. 21, 22, 28 — Halloween History Alive Tour. This is a walking tour of downtown Tucumcari featuring new, hair-raising stories and bone-chilling accounts of the city’s past. Tickets can be purchased from Tucumcari MainStreet.

• Oct. 22 — The Great Pumpkin Giveaway. The Rex E. Kirksey Ag Science Center in Tucumcari will give away 2,000 pumpkins form 3 to 6:30 p.m., with children as first priority. All guests taking a pumpkins are encouraged to carve it and enter it in the Pumpkin Crawl at the Tucumcari Historical Museum on Oct. 29 for a chance at a $500 cash prize.

• Oct. 29 — Spook-tacular Halloween Block Party. Tucumcari MainStreet is planning a downtown block party with trick-or-treat booths, food trucks, games and more on a blocked-off section of Second Street between Main and Aber streets. Businesses, churches and organizations are invited to set up during the event from 4 to 8 p.m.

• Oct. 29 — Hocus Pokey dance and costume party. Join the Elks Lodge 1172 at 7 p.m. with a disc jockey, food and games. It includes a costume contest for cash and prizes. 2118 S. Adams St., Tucumcari.
