Serving the High Plains
Tucumcari MainStreet last week received a $7,000 grant from the Resilient Communities Fund of the state MainStreet organization.
Tucumcari’s grant will be used for the business microloan program, Tucumcari MainStreet executive director Connie Loveland said.
She said the Tucumcari program has helped 11 small businesses with small, low-interest loans to help them open or expand their operations.
Tucumcari MainStreet was among 16 MainStreet-affiliated communities that received grants totaling more than $415,000, according to a news release from New Mexico MainStreet. The New Mexico Resiliency Alliance and the McCune Charitable Foundation are part of the program in addition to New Mexico MainStreet.
