The Quay County Clerk’s Office sent out a notice last week to voters and prospective candidates of important information for the June primary election, including the lone filing day next month.

These county offices will be up for election during the June 7 primary:

• County commission, District 3 (four-year term)

• Assessor (four-year term)

• Probate judge (four-year term)

• Magistrate judge (four-year term)

Filing day for those offices will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 8 at the county clerk’s office at 301 S. Third St. in Tucumcari.

County Clerk Ellen White stated in a news release that primary elections in New Mexico are closed, and voters must be registered as a Democrat, Republican or Libertarian to vote at that time.

She also encouraged voters to verify whether they are a registered voter in the county, with a correct address of where they reside and a current mailing address.

Candidate guides with critical election deadlines, forms and other information are available at the county clerk’s office in Tucumcari and at the New Mexico Secretary of State’s website at sos.state.nm.us. The clerk’s office can be reached by phone at (575) 461-0510.
