Producers for the History Channel's long-running "American Pickers" reality show announced last week they would film new episodes in New Mexico in March and are seeking residents who have a large, private collection of antiques.
"American Pickers" stated in a news release it is looking for New Mexico residents who have an accumulation of antiques the show's hosts can spend much of the day examining.
Prospective antique collectors can contact the show by emailing [email protected], calling 646-493-2184 or going to the show's Facebook page at @GotAPick and providing their name, phone number, location and a description of the collection, with photos.
The show will not consider stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public.
Thomas Carrera, lead story producer for "American Pickers," stated in an email he would consider New Mexico residents' submissions through January.
"American Pickers" also stated it would follow all COVID-19 guidelines and protocols for safe filming set by the state of New Mexico and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"Nevertheless, we are excited to continue reaching the many collectors in the area to discuss their years of picking and are eager to hear their memorable stories!" the release stated.
The History Channel has aired "American Pickers" since 2010. The show follows antique collector Mike Wolfe and other cohorts who travel the United States to "pick" various items for resale, for clients or for their collections. Wolfe owns Antique Archaeology businesses in Le Claire, Iowa, and Nashville.
