Serving the High Plains
Quay County On the Move is inviting residents to spend an afternoon exploring Tucumcari’s four museums from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 18 as part of a scavenger hunt.
Venues participating are the New Mexico Route 66 Museum, Tucumcari Railroad Museum, Tucumcari Historical Museum and the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum.
Participants who arrive at one of the museums should stop by the Quay County On The Move table, register and pick up a scavenger-hunt form. Participants will receive a hand stamp so they do not have to register at the other museums.
Once the hunt is completed, participants should check in at the table so they can receive a prize. Adult and children’s prizes will be offered at each museum.
Current COVID-19 restrictions will be followed during the event.
The New Mexico Route 66 Museum is at 1500 W. Route 66, in the back of the Tucumcari Convention Center. The Tucumcari Railroad Museum is at 101 E. Railroad Ave. The Tucumcari Historical Museum is at 416 S. Adams St. and the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum at 222 E. Laughlin Ave.
Quay County on the Move is a joint program of the Quay County Health Council and Quay County Extension Service. This program is funded by Presbyterian Health Care Services. For more information, call the Health Council at (575) 815-4575.
