Several athletes with the Mesalands Community College rodeo team had respectable results during the National College Finals Rodeo last week in Casper, Wyoming.
Dylan Hill of the Mesalands finished in the top eight of the team roping competition of the third go-round Thursday. Hill and his roping partner logged a time of 7.7 seconds. Marcus Theriot and Cole Curry of East Mississippi Community College won the go-round with a time of 4.7 seconds.
Preston Ogle, also of Mesalands, scored a 79.0 during the second go-round of saddle bronc riding, putting him in a tie for third on the day. Cash Wilson of Clarendon College won the go-round with a score of 81.0.
Mesalands’ Blake Afdahl and his partner completed a team roping turn in 7.4 seconds during the second round, landing them in the top 10 in the nation and 16th overall.
