• Friday — Fired Up Friday. This downtown event replaces the canceled Fired Up Festival. There will be a chuckwagon demonstration with a book signing by Vince Smith. Food trucks will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until the food runs out. Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza at Second and Main streets.
• Saturday — Tucumcari Historical Research Institute Hot Dog Food and Field Trip. The field trip will be to the New Mexico State University Agricultural Science Center in Tucumcari, which is the university’s oldest continuously operating off-campus research facility. Established in 1912, the facility conducts irrigated crop and livestock research for semi-arid regions. Those participating should meet at the Tucumcari Historical Museum at 416 S. Adams St. at 11 a.m. for hot dogs, then car pool at 12:30 p.m. to the research facility for the tour. Cost is $5 for institute non-members and free for members. Participants must pay by by 3 p.m. Friday at the historical museum.
• June 18 — Fired Up Friday. An Open Mic Night will be held for poets and entertainers. Food trucks will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until the food runs out. Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza at Second and Main streets.
• July 16 — Fired Up Friday. The Quay County Health Council will host a chalk art contest. Food trucks will operated from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until the food runs out. Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza at Second and Main streets.
• Aug. 5-7 — Rattler Reunion. The committee plans to hold the annual event for Tucumcari High School alumni at various venues around town, including the traditional site of the Tucumcari Convention Center, in light of COVID-19 restrictions. The 2021 Rattler Reunion hosts will be the Classes of 1990 and 1991. The Golden Rattlers will be the Classes of 1970 and 1971. • Sept. 17 — Fired Up Friday. An outdoor concert is scheduled. Food trucks will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until the food runs out. Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza at Second and Main streets.
