Five more cases of coronavirus were reported Sunday in Quay County as New Mexico reported a record-breaking number of deaths in one day.
For the latest cases in the county, the breakdown by ZIP code was three in Tucumcari, one in Logan and the first-ever case in Bard.
Three females and two males were infected. The age breakdown was one age 10 to 19, two age 40 to 49, one age 60 to 69 and one age 80 to 89.
That brought the overall total in the county to 198, with three deaths, since the pandemic began in the spring. A total of 91 cases have been reported in the county in November alone.
The total number of cases in the county since the pandemic began rose to 193. A total of 76 people have been deemed as recovered from the virus.
The breakdown by ZIP code since the pandemic began is 137 in Tucumcari, 45 in Logan, five in San Jon, four in House, four in McAlister, one in Nara Visa, one in Bard and one in Grady (part of which extends into the county).
In New Mexico, a total of 2,468 new cases were reported Sunday, bringing the overall total past 81,000.
A total of 710 cases were reported in Bernalillo County, with another 220 in Dona Ana County, 193 in San Juan County and 190 in McKinley County.
A record total of 33 deaths were reported Sunday, raising the overall total to 1,383.
A record total of 845 people were hospitalized with the disease on Sunday.
In the U.S., more than 12.2 million confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported through Sunday since the pandemic began, with more than 256,000 deaths.
