The New Mexico Department of Health on Sunday again reported five more cases of COVID-19 in Quay County, all in the Tucumcari ZIP code.
The agency has reported 10 coronavirus cases in the Tucumcari area in two days.
According to the DOH's website, the latest cases were three men and two women. The age breakdowns were three age 30 to 39, one age 20 to 29 and one age 50 to 59.
The total number of cases in the county grew to 129, with two deaths, since the pandemic began. Quay County has recorded 22 cases in November alone.
The breakdown in the county by ZIP code since the pandemic began is 83 in Tucumcari, 36 in Logan, five in San Jon, three in McAlister, one in House and one in Grady.
On Sunday, a total of 1,214 cases of coronavirus were reported in New Mexico, tying a daily record set Friday. Bernalillo County had 276 cases on Sunday, and Dona Ana County recorded 146.
New Mexico's seven-day rolling average of cases is higher than 1,000, well past the gating criteria of 168.
New Mexico's overall case total since the pandemic started approached the 55,000 mark.
A record total of 14 deaths were reported in the state Sunday, bringing that total to 1,118.
A total of 437 people in New Mexico are hospitalized with the virus. As of Sunday, 79% of general beds at New Mexico hospitals are occupied, and 74% of intensive-care beds of the state's hospitals are occupied. This includes patients hospitalized for COVID-19 and other illnesses.
The public health department for the Amarillo region reported more than 5,400 active cases on Friday, the latest day available, with a hospitalization rate of 30.8%.
In the U.S., 9.9 million confirmed cases of the disease have been reported on Sunday, with more than 237,000 deaths.
