New COVID-19 case reported in Logan

Quay County saw one confirmed coronavirus case Thursday in the Logan ZIP code.

The latest case was a person age 30 to 39, according to data from the New Mexico Department of Health website.

The total number of cases in Quay County since the pandemic began was 63. Thirty-two cases have come from Tucumcari, 29 from Logan and four from San Jon. The ZIP code totals add to 65; the DOH did not explain the discrepancy.

A total of 40 residents have recovered from the virus. Two deaths have been reported in Quay County since the pandemic began.

A total of 1,643 tests have been performed for the virus.

A total of 202 new cases were reported Thursday in New Mexico. The seven-day average was 128, well below the gating criteria of 168.

More than 25,800 people in the state have been confirmed with the disease.

One death was reported Thursday, bringing the total to 791.

A total of 75 people are hospitalized in New Mexico with COVID-19. A total of 13,283 have been deemed as recovered from the virus.

In the U.S., 6.1 million people have been confirmed with the virus, with more than 186,000 deaths through Thursday afternoon.
