Three Tucumcari boys basketball players were named to the all-district team in Class 3A’s District 4.
Sophomore guard Jesus Ramos, sophomore forward Andrew Henderson-Clark and senior wing Alexander Lujan each made the first team from a squad that went 9-16 during the season and finished third in the district.
Ramos averaged a team-high 19.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.4 steals per game.
Henderson-Clark averaged 10.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Lujan averaged 9.1 points per contest.
Tucumcari senior forward Robbie Hartmann was an honorable mention. He averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Tularosa (19-8), which won the district crown, had five players make all-district first team. New Mexico Military Institute (15-9), which finished second, had four all-district players. Dexter (4-23) had one all-district player.
In Class 1A’s District 6, Logan junior guard Dante Sanchez and junior forward Wyatt Wright were named to the first team.
Sanchez averaged 22.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Wright averaged 9.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for the Longhorns (15-14).
Logan junior forward Garrett Bollinger was an honorable mention. He averaged 7.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
For Grady/San Jon, senior forward Chisum Rush, junior guard Isaiah Mitchell and sophomore forward Dustin Bryant each made the first team for the Bronchos (12-12) in District 6.
Rush averaged 17.0 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, both team highs. Mitchell averaged 11.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. Bryant averaged 10.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Junior forward Chad Becerra and sophomore Tobe Slater were honorable mentions for the Bronchos. Becerra averaged 8.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Slater averaged 4.6 points per game.
Class 1A state champion Melrose (29-1) dominated the 6-1A first-team list with five first-team players.
