The Quay County Clerk’s Office is reminding residents to get their voting information correct for the 2020 primary and general elections.
Please verify you are a registered voter in Quay County with the proper address where you reside and a current mailing address.
New Mexico holds closed primary elections. Voters must be registered as a Democrat, Republican or Libertarian to cast a ballot in the June 2 primary. The voter registration deadline for the primary is May 5.
Early voting for the primary will be May 16-30, with in-person absentee voting from May 5-29.
These offices affecting Quay County will be on the primary ballot:
• U.S. senator (six-year term)
• U.S. representative (two-year term)
• 10th Judicial District Attorney (four-year term)
• New Mexico District 67 representative (two-year term)
• New Mexico Districts 7 and 8 senators (four-year terms)
• County Commissioner Districts 1 and 2 (four-year terms)
• County treasurer (four-year term)
• County clerk (four-year term)
The general election will be Nov. 3. Early voting for the general will be Oct. 17-31, with in-person absentee voting from Oct. 6-30. That voter registration deadline will be Oct. 6.
