Three players from Logan’s state-champion volleyball team earned all-state honors Monday, and one from Tucumcari earned second-team honors.
Senior outside hitter Karli Webb, senior middle hitter Jordan Hines and senior libero Julianna Garcia were named all-state in Class 1A for the 22-4 Lady Longhorns, according to the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. Sophomore outside hitter Kyndall Ragland was a second-team selection.
For Tucumcari, senior outside hitter Jasmine Jones earned second-team honors in Class 3A.
All-district players for the Lady Longhorns in Class 1A’s District 6 were Hines, Karli Webb, Garcia and Ragland.
Hines led the team in kills (264), service aces (47), blocks (88), kill percentage and serve percentage.
Webb led the team in assists (337) and was second in kills (209) and aces (35).
Garcia led the team in digs with 304. Ragland was third on the team in kills (110).
District honorable mention players for Logan were middle hitter Kambry Burns and outside hitters Karlee Cantrell and Kesleah Shields.
Tucumcari, which earned a state tournament berth for the first time in 30 years, saw three players earn all-district honors Monday.
Sophomore setter Reece Goldston, senior middle blocker Aaliyah Brown and Jones earned the honors for Class 3A’s District 4, which included Tularosa and Dexter. The Lady Rattlers finished the year 11-13.
Jones ended the year with more than 200 kills and also led the team in hitting percentage, kill percentage and service aces. She will play at Eastern New Mexico University next season on a partial scholarship.
Brown led the Lady Rattlers in blocks, and Goldston totaled more than 400 assists.
Honorable mentions in the district for Tucumcari were Felicity Lopez, Alexus Lafferty and Mariah Ruvalcaba-Vasquez.
For Grady/San Jon, junior Teryn Foote was the lone Lady Broncho to earn all-district honors.
The outside hitter led the team in kills (189), blocks (50) and hit percentage. Grady/San Jon finished 9-13 overall and 2-6 in Class 1A’s District 6.
