The Coyotes improved to 1-2 overall.
The host Mountaineers fell to 0-3 on the season.

Logan 50, Pine Hill 0
The visiting Longhorns destroyed Pine Hill 50-0 in an eight-man football game Friday shortened at halftime by the mercy rule.
Logan (2-2) led 42-0 after just the first quarter, and the rest of the game was played under a running clock.
Nick Brown and Jordan Evans each scored two touchdowns for the Longhorns, and coach Dwayne Roberts said quarterback Jantzen Paris had a good night passing.
“We spread it around,” Roberts said. “We even let several of our young players catch a few passes. We got to try some new things on offense. It was a good night.”
The Warriors fell to 0-2.
Because of a cancellation of Logan’s game against Foothill due to its lack of players by its opponent, the Longhorns next play at district contender Melrose at 7 p.m. Sept. 27.
