The Logan softball team earned a No. 9 seed for the Class 1A/2A state softball championships and will play against No. 8-seeded McCurdy on Wednesday at a neutral site.
Logan (10-10) will see the first pitch against McCurdy (9-6) at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho.
The winner faces the winner of No. 1-seeded Eunice (20-5) against 16th-seeded Pecos (3-17) later that day at 2:30 p.m. at Cleveland.
The semifinal rounds will be Thursday in Rio Rancho. The championship will be Friday at UNM Softball Complex.
Logan finished its regular season with a 20-10 victory May 6 over district foe Clayton to improve to 7-2, just behind district champion Santa Rosa’s 8-1 record in District 7.
