Serving the High Plains
Several high-school students in Quay County recently received scholarships from Plateau’s Education Foundation.
The 35 scholarship winners were introduced at the cooperative’s annual membership meeting in Clovis on April 27.
Quay County scholarship winners were:
• Ellie Reese Aikman, House High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Katelynn Ann Kenyon, House High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Dawson S. Moon, House High School, $1,500 Committed to Excellence Endowment scholarship;
• Brook Marie Valentine, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Hannah Bruhn, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Cassidy Elizabeth Cordova, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Dyson Zane Day, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Chase Morgan Earle, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Chase Elliot Hittson, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship;
• Emily Marie LeBlanc, Logan High School, $3,000 Banner scholarship.
Mckenna Mae Brewer and Brook Robertson of Logan and Alexis D. Smith of House were Banner scholarship alternates.
Funding for the Education Foundation comes from cooperative members’ donated and abandoned capital credits payments. One of the foundation’s goals is to improve educational opportunities for the youth in the cooperative’s service area.
Formed in 1949 as Eastern New Mexico Rural Telephone Cooperative, Plateau provides advanced communication services including voice, internet and video to residents in all or parts of 18 eastern New Mexico counties and four in the Texas Panhandle.
