A fire that destroyed a vacant trailer and threatened other structures in Tucumcari is being investigated.
Tucumcari Fire Chief Doug Hogan said the blaze was reported at 2:17 a.m. March 4 in the 1400 block of South Jackson Street. Firefighters in Logan and Rural District 1 were dispatched for mutual aid.
“The first fire units arrived on-scene at 2:22 and confirmed that a single-wide trailer home was fully engulfed; flames and burning grass were threatening the neighboring home,” Hogan wrote in an email.
Hogan stated the fire was extinguished within 20 minutes. He said the trailer was a total loss, and a neighboring home sustained damage to its siding.
No injuries were reported. Hogan said the fire remains under investigation.
