Clovis Christian 43, Grady 40
Host Clovis Christian edged the Grady girls basketball team 43-40 during a district game Thursday night.
Isabelle Martinez scored nine points to lead the Lady Broncos, who fell to 4-18 and 1-5 in Class 1A, District 6.
Grady defeated Clovis Christian 49-43 on Jan. 24.
“I don’t think we matched their intensity as far as energy on the court until too late,” Grady coach Rebecca Burns said. “We played slow all game, which is not how we have played in the past few weeks, and the slower speed forced us to take bad shots and make errors in our passing. Clovis Christian showed up and executed a great game plan, and we failed to do so.”
Clovis Christian improved to 5-12, 1-6.
