Lady Longhorns win seventh in a row

The Logan girls basketball team won its seventh game in a row with a 51-43 victory Saturday at home over Boise City, Oklahoma.

The Lady Longhorns improved to 9-1 overall, while the Wildcats dropped to 9-2 overall. Logan's only loss so far this season was to state-ranked Tatum.

Logan coach Glynna Strand said her team is “starting to gel more as a team since getting our injured girls back and came out ready to play today.”

Harlie Roach led Logan with 18 points, and Karli Webb added 13.

Logan 51, Des Moines 32

Logan went on the road Friday and delivered a solid 51-32 victory over host Des Moines.

Roach led the Lady Longhorns with 17 points, and Kesleah Shields added nine.

Des Moines fell to 8-4 overall.

Logan 62, Roy/Mosquero 41

Logan knocked off Harding County rival Roy/Mosquero 62-41 on Thursday.

Roach scored 20, and Webb added 11 for the winning Longhorns.

Roy/Mosquero dropped to 4-2 overall.

Dora 43, Grady/San Jon/House 35

Grady/San Jon/House put up a good fight but fell on the road Dec. 18 to Dora, 43-35.

Morgan Becerra led the Lady Bronchos with 10 points.

Dora improved to 6-2 overall, and Grady/San Jon/House fell to 2-8.

“We came out and played solid defense for most of the game but struggled to finish at the basket,” Lady Bronchos coach Rebecca Burns said, “and our free-throw percentage was below 25. Those are two things that need to be done well in order to win, and we just didn’t do it.”
