Serving the High Plains
The Foundation for Rural Service announced last week it will award scholarships to qualified rural students in the late spring.
One scholarship will be awarded per geographic region of the NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association and one to a student sponsored by an NTCA associate member. The awards will be distributed proportionate to the number of applications received from each region. The foundation will fund $2,000 of each scholarship, with the sponsoring organization of each winning student providing a $500 match.
Plateau again is joining with the foundation to offer the scholarship to rural students of eastern New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle.
Applications must be completed and postmarked by Feb. 1 to qualify. Applications have been distributed to local high-school guidance offices and Plateau stores.
