Early and absentee voting begin Oct. 9

Early or absentee voting for the Nov. 6 general election begins Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Quay County Clerk’s office at 301 S. Third St. in Tucumcari.

Hours at the clerk’s office will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, including the lunch hour, according to a news release.

The last day for early voting will be Saturday, Nov. 3. Hours for the clerk’s office that day will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

No reason for requesting an absentee ballot or an early voting ballot is required.

The clerk’s office also will register voters through Tuesday, Oct. 9. Anyone who will be 18 years old before the general election is eligible to register and vote.

One also can register to vote or update voter-registration information through the New Mexico Secretary of State’s website at nmvote.org.
