• Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crellin announced they will combine the D&S and 66 Drive-In drugstores into one new drugstore. The new store is expected to be completed in mid-November and will be in the 800 block of South First Street in Tucumcari.

• Quay County’s representative for the 1968 New Mexico State Fair queen competition is Lee Ann McCoy, a blue-eyed brunette from Tucumcari. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. McCoy, she is a 20-year-old sophomore at Sul Ross College in Alpine, Texas. She reigned as Quay County 4-H Queen and was active in the pep club, rodeo, barrel racing and pole-bending.
