Friday — American Towman Spirit Ride. The Spirit Ride ceremonial casket pays tribute to first responders who have died while on duty — including one in Tucumari — while promoting public awareness of the New Mexico’s new “Move Over” law. The Spirit Ride is scheduled to be at the Tucumcari Convention Center about 10 a.m.
Friday — Ribbon-cutting for Blaze-in-Saddle RV Park: The RV park is celebrating its grand opening at 4 p.m. with refreshments. 2500 E. Route 66 Blvd., Tucumcari.

Monday — “Iron Jawed Angels”: Free movie screening of this 2004 film about the 20th-century women’s suffrage movement by the Tucumcari Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Odeon Theatre in Tucumcari in celebration of Constitution Week.
Sept. 22 — Museum Day Live. As part of the Smithsonian Museum Day Live, visit Mesalands Community College's Dinosaur Museum in Tucumcari for free.

Sept. 24-29 — “Art on Fire” Exhibit & Sale: Vote with pennies for your favorite art piece in the 2018 Art on Fire Exhibit. All art on sale. Raffles on Sept. 29 at 4, 5 and 6 p.m.. Sept. 30 — Fired Up: Head to Tucumcari's historic Main Street for family-friendly activities, local vendors, and live entertainment all day for this seventh annual celebration. Oct. 5 — 5K Fun Run & Walk: This event is family-friendly, with free entry and a free T-shirt for finishing. Oct. 12 — 11th annual Mesalands Community College Grand Canyon Region Intercollegiate Fall Rodeo. The rodeo begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Slack will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, (with no charge), and the championship performance begins at 6 p.m. that day. Quay County Fairgrounds, Tucumcari.
Oct. 20 — Altrusa “Boo-Bash” Cash Party. Altrusa International of Tucumcari will host the reverse raffle beginning at 6 p.m. at the Tucumcari Convention Center. The Halloween dance and costume contest will follow at 8 p.m. Proceeds will be used to fund a variety of Altrusa community service projects throughout the year.
