Bass fishing competition set for Ute Lake in September

QCS Staff

The American Bass Anglers Tournament is set for September at Ute Lake, with two days of bass fishing competition.

The tournament will be Sept. 15-16, according to a release from the city of Tucumcari.

As a championship event, competitors must have qualified by participating in at least four of the previous Bass Anglers Tournaments throughout the year. The event is open to the public to attend, and begins at daybreak each day, with weigh-ins taking place mid-afternoon both days.

“We welcome all competitors, spectators, and visitors to come see what Tucumcari is all about,” Tucumcari Mayor Ruth Ann Litchfield said in the release, “and to spend the day on nearby Ute Lake, soaking up some New Mexico sun and amenities.”
