Serving the High Plains
Senior members of the Quay County 4-H won three championships at the State Conference held July 9 – July 12 in Las Cruces.
In addition to the contests, the 12 senior members participated in a variety of workshops.
Team results:
1. Family Consumer Science Bowl Team: Tianna Peterson, Dyson Clark, Natalie Hayes, and Bailey Montoya.
• The team has qualified for Nationals in January. Peterson was second high individual, Clark third high and Hayes was fourth.
1. Meats Team: Micah Lightfoot, Kyle Hamilton, and Jonathan Clark
• Hamilton was the High Point individual, Lightfoot was second high individual.
1. Range Management Team: Kaleb Hayes, Jonathan Clark, and Rilee Nials
• Nials was High Point individual, Hayes was second high and Clark was fourth high.
2. Family Consumer Science Skill-a-thon Team: Tianna Peterson, Jenna Lopez, and Natalie Hayes placed second. Hayes was third high individual.
3. Livestock Skill-a-thon Team: Jonathan Clark, Kyle Hamilton, and Garrett Bollinger
• Clark was third high individual.
