Quay County Commission
At their June 8 meeting, Quay County commissioners took the following actions:
• Greater Tucumcari Economic Development Corp., Executive Director Patrick Vanderpool requested the approval of the annual $50,000 allocation from the County Commissioners. Vanderpool outlined several of the ongoing efforts to attract economic opportunities to the area and spoke of upcoming meetings, events that the public are encouraged to attend. The commission approved the requested 2-to- 1.
• Community Development Block Grant Coordinator requested the approval of Resolutions No. 31, 33, 34, 35, 36 for the 2017-2018 submission of the application requesting $750,000 for road repair, improvement projects in the county. Munsell also requested the approval for the Request for Proposal for the engineering services for work on Quay Road AR as a part of this project. The commission approved the resolution and RFP.
• Quay County Road Superintendent Larry Moore request the approval or Resolutions No. 37, 38, 39, 40 and 41 for the 2017-2018 CAP, County Co-op agreements for repairs, improvements on county school bus routes. The commission approved the resolutions.
• Quay County Sheriff Russell Shafer gave a quarterly report of activity to the commission.
• District 1 Commissioner Sue Dowell asked Quay County Manager Richard Primrose if there had been any resolution or update on the issue of the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital Emergency Room billing local patients for being out of network. Dowell said this is an issue that impacts the residents who are seeking care at their local hospital only to billed out of network prices on their insurance. Primrose said he would look into the matter to determine if there has been a resolution to the issue.
• Quay County Clerk Ellen White held a canvas of Tuesday’s primary election results. The commission approved the addition of results from four provisional ballots and confirmed the canvassed results for submission to the Secretary of State’s Office.
