Field events to start at 9 a.m., running at 11 a.m.
The Tucumcari Rattlers Relay will be held on Saturday at Rattlers Stadium with more than 18 high school track and field teams from eastern New Mexico competing in Tucumcari.
“We have been working to fill spots on both the girls and boys teams to prepare for this first meet,” said Wayne Ferguson, head track coach.
The Rattlers boys team won the 3A team championship last year.
Ferguson said both the boys and girls teams have strong core groups. He said it is only a matter of filling a few vacant positions.
Field events will begin at 9 a.m., and running events will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday at Rattler Stadium.
