• The Clovis Coca Cola Bottling Company became the owners of three lots on East Main Street when they purchased the property from W. W. Kuehn. It is undestood the company contemplates establishing a plant here some time in the future.
• Don Strickland, manager of the Bowl-a-Lyne, opened the alley after months of preparation. Lloyd Taylor, one of the greatest amateur bowlers in the state will give an exhibition on bowling.
• John Kelt of the Western Auto Supply announced he had purchased Wayne Van Schoyck's interest in the three Western Auto stores located in Portales, Santa Rosa and Tucumcari. At the same time Kelt said he had relinquised his interest in the Walsenburg, Co. store to Van Schoyck.
• Historic First National Bank opens its doors of its new building located at the corner of Main Street and Second Street. It took nine months and eighteen days to build the new bank. The original bank was opened in March of 1902.
