Reward offered for information leading to arrest.
Tucumcari Police Department officials are advising residents to be vigilant and cautious after a local woman was assaulted Sunday while throwing away her trash at her residence on the 500 block of East Rankin Avenue.
“At this time, we are advising residents to be observant of any suspicious activity or individuals in the alley,” said Deputy Chief Peter Rivera.
Rivera said at 6:20 p.m., Sunday officers with the Tucumcari Police Department responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the 500 block of East Rankin Avenue. He said officers were told by the victim, she was throwing the trash away in the alley when she was attacked by two, unidentified male subjects, and sustained multiple injuries.
“This case is actively being investigated by the department,” Rivera said. “Any information about the incident would be greatly appreciated.”
Rivera said a description of the two male subjects is not available at this time, but will be released once the information has been verified.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects connected to this aggravated assault.
