New Logan boss starts

Funding for the senior citizens center, water concerns, damage from the recent rainfalls are just a few of the day-to-day issues the new Village of Logan manager has fielded since starting on Wednesday.

“I look forward to working with the village staff and residents on promoting and improving Logan,” said Trevor Thompson.

Thompson said with the help of interim village manager Larry Wallin, he has dove right into the responsibilities that will be his priorities as manager. He said Wallin has helped him to get up to speed on the issues that have been or will impact the village’s livelihodd.

“I understand that water, Ute Lake, is very important and vital to our village’s future,” Thompson said.

Wallin said after a year of operating the senior citizens center, the Village of Logan wants to ensure the continued funding to provide the services to residents. He said Thompson has shown a lot of optimism engaging residents, state and county officials.

On Monday, Wallin introduced Thompson to the Quay County Commissioners falling their regular scheduled meeting.

“The county commission looks forward to working with you on issues that concern the residents of Quay County,” said Commission Chair Franklin McCasland.

The county has worked with Wallin in the past to address issues that had county wide impacts and looks forward to a good working relationship with Thompson, said County Manager Richard Primrose.

Thompson said he looks forward to meeting, working with all of the area officials looking to them for helpful insights in the future.

“I’m doing my best to get into the swing of things as manager,” Thompson said. Thompson said this includes addressing the damage to the streets from recent rainfall and the impact it will have on current and future road projects in the village.
