Past, current Rattlers, Lady Rattlers compete in alumni tournaments.
Rattlers and Lady Rattlers current and past had a chance to compete in the Snake Pit again during an alumni volleyball and basketball tournaments for Rattler Reunion.
"There was a great turnout for both tournaments; it was nice to see so many alumni come out and compete," said Dana Benavidez, event coordinator.
Benavidez said overall there was a positive response by those who competed in the events and those who came out to support the athletes. She said this is the third year for the alumni tournaments, a fundraiser for Tucumcari Athletics.
"These events were started with the desire to want to help future Rattlers, Lady Rattlers as they participate in high school sports," Benavidez said. "It is also fun to have a chance to compete once again."
Benavidez competed with classmates and her husband, Patrick Benavidez.
"It was fun to step onto the court again," said Michelle Fazekas, THS alumni. "We all had a great time filled with a lot of laughs."
Fazekas said the tournament brought a lot of her old teammates together. She said it was a competition but more of a reunion of sorts.
