• The Yucca yearbook staff took a field trip to the Princess Theater. The projection room of the theater was the object of a field trip taken by the staff in order to see how the movie programs were operated.

E.F. Ayers and D.B. Majors, projector operators, explained to the students how the projectors work. Ray Paulson, sponsor, treated all the staff members to a malt at the Crescent Creamery before returning to school.

• William Gaskins was named president of the Citizens Bank by the bank's directors, replacing the late J. Herman Askins. H. W. Ingram, a vice president, was elected chairman of the board and Rosalie Gaskins was named cashier, succeeding her husband.

• On sale at Cooper's Market, bacon was 45 cents a pound, picnic hams 39 cents a pound, arm roast 49 cents a pound, $3.29 for a 50-pound bag of flour and 69 cents for T-bone steaks.
