Seven San Jon High School seniors received diplomas at graduation ceremonies Friday.
The ceremony was held in the San Jon High gymnasium as community members watched.
Valedictorian Charlotte Young praised her classmates for perseverance and talked about overcoming some recent struggles of her own.
She said her classmates taught her to “laugh when you’re sad and smile when want to cry.”
Colin Taylor, principal of San Jon School, advised the senior to learn from their mistakes, and to always remember that “God, family, loved ones and friends always come first.”
Salutatorian Carl Webb said the graduating seniors will always remember their high school years, even if they “can hardly wait to get out of here.”
Scholarship awards: Make sure I get them.
