The Mesalands Community College board approved a $11.1 million budget Tuesday for the 2013-2014 school year.
The board approved the budget at a special meeting held for the 2013-2014 budget and to make adjustments requested to a revised 2012-2013 budget.
The adjustment requests were needed to change beginning amounts based on actual cash and to show reductions in federal and state grant amounts and a reduction in expenditures adjusting the year end amounts, said Alex Villanueva, iterim business manager.
Villanueva said the adjustments to the revised 2012-2013 budget changed it to 10,426,531 from $10,509,514.
The board also voted to cancel two contracts effective May 1 which it had with the Ambitions Consulting Group, an information technology and business consulting firm based out of Albuquerque.
Vice President of Student Affairs Aaron Kennedy said the college could hire a consultant and have them on site providing a higher level of service than it is receiving from the Albuquerque group,.
Kennedy said the two contracts with Ambitions Group are for remote monitoring of the college's systems and fractional CIO, which is monitoring of institutional technology. The contracts totaled $60,000.
