Carlsbad Cavern, 727 National Parks Highway, Carlsbad. Visitors Center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with self guided tours of the caverns. Admission fees are for adults, $6, for children 15 and under are free. For information call 1-877-444-6777.
Sitting Bull Falls, take US285 North of Carlsbad, turn West onto N.M. 137, continue on N.M. 137 about 20 miles until you find County Road 409. Turn right on this road and continue. The Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Site is at the end of this road. Open April 1 through September 30 from 12 noon until 6 p.m. incoming gates close at 5 p.m. Admission fees are $5 per vehicle. Palo Duro Canyon State Park, 11450 State Highway Park Road 5, Canyon, Texas. Open seven day a week for year round camping, hiking and horse back riding. Open April and May, Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Admission fee for adults, $5 daily and for 12 and under get in free. Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 34 County Road, Angel Fire. The Visitors Center and Chapel are open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. with the Chapel being open 24 hours a day. This memorial is a great trip for families to view and the grounds and the view are very serene. For information call 575-377-6900.
Old Town Santa Fe. The Old Town Square is to the East of US285 and Paseo de Peralto acts as a beltway around the Plaza. From the South side of town, Galisteo Street or the Old Santa Fe Trail will take you to the square. You will find galleries and shops with souvenirs, potter and jewelry plus magnificent churches to tour. For information call 505-988-3279.
Taos Pueblo, 120 Veterans Highway, Taos. Open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. seven days a week. The Pueblo stands as the largest surviving multistoried Pueblo structure in the United States. Guided tours start an 9 a.m. with 10 or more people the cost is $4 per person and arrangements are to be made two weeks in advance.

Taos Old Town Plaza, Paseo del Pueblo, Taos. This plaza has old building that are considered historic sites with art galleries, shops, restaurants and bars and a great place for an outing with the family. Close by the plaza there are museums to go see. For information call 575-751-8800.
